Why Support?

Hey everyone — Joey here.

The Plague Doctor started the way a lot of my characters do… buried in my sketchbooks. Just ink, paper, and whatever strange little figure decided to crawl out of my pen that day.

At some point he escaped the sketchbook and ended up on the back of a poster I designed for a pretty famous rock ’n’ roll band. People started noticing him back there — this odd little character quietly hanging around the edges.

Then something funny happened.

Fans kept asking about him. Collectors started recognizing him. And over time this strange little guy with the beak and coat slowly became part of my branding — one of the characters people associate most with my work.

Now we’re trying something new.

We’re turning him into a plush toy — a weird, slightly mysterious little companion that looks like he stepped right out of my drawings and into the real world.

Before production can start, the company needs 100 pledges of $2 to show there’s interest.

Two bucks.

If you’ve followed my work, collected a print, shared a post, or just enjoy the strange characters that come out of my studio — this is a simple way to help bring this little plague doctor to life.

Let’s see if we can make it happen.

Thanks for always supporting the weird stuff I create.

Background

What Makes This Plush Special

This isn’t some random character designed by a toy company.

This little plague doctor came straight out of my actual sketchbooks, the same place most of my paintings and prints begin. He started as a loose ink drawing, then showed up on the back of a rock ’n’ roll poster, and over time became one of the characters people associate most with my work.

So turning him into a plush toy feels like the natural next step — taking something that lived on paper and bringing it into the real world.

The design stays true to the drawing:
the oversized hat, the long beak, the dark coat, and those slightly worried eyes that look like he’s survived a few strange adventures.

It’s a weird little object, in the best possible way.

If the campaign succeeds, this will be the first plush version of my Plague Doctor character, which makes it a pretty special collectible for people who have followed my work over the years.

A strange little creature from my sketchbook… now sitting on your desk.
