Why Support?
I am a long time appreciator and collector of the plushie, the cuddly toy, the teddy. Starting at the tender age of 4, I would select my cuddly animal companions with care and thought. That same attention to detail and intention is going into the designing and making of this particular Heron. I have drawn many characters over the years, many sweet human and animal faces, but no creature has captured me quite like the Heron, with his twinkling eyes and air of mystery, elegance, and awkwardness. I think he is going to be something very special and unique in plushie form, help me make this Heron a reality!
Background
Sometimes I don’t know why the Heron chose me as his number one fan, but whatever the reason, I am honoured. I wondered what to do with this gift, and realised, as well as telling his story in my art, it would be amazing to make Heron a real, cuddly guy! You’ll find nothing else quite like him out there. He is modelled on the true Grey Heron (Ardea Cinerea) but in my version you have the option of fitting him with a headscarf. For when it rains, of course, and he doesn’t want to get his occipital feathers wet. This Heron is my ode to the rivers and lakes that he calls home, to the beautiful mysteries of the bodies of water of the world, and the lives they sustain. For many years, I missed Heron, but I didn’t know it yet. Now he's here, and he wants to meet you! Join the many fans of the glorious Grey Heron and invite him into your home <3
